Each Wednesday throughout the summer, the St. Catherine University athletics department will countdown the top Wildcat victories from the last year in the Top 10 Victories of 2015-16.

In a year of fantastic first impressions, Sydney Busker (Detroit Lakes, Minn. / Detroit Lakes) didn't waste any time making hers on both the St. Catherine University golf team and the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). The first year golfer had a historically great season for the Wildcats, capped by an impressive victory at the Division III Classic in late September at the Jewel Golf Club in Lake City, Minnesota. 

Busker was solid on both Saturday and Sunday at the DIII Classic, carding a 75 (+3) to open the tournament. She was just as consistent on day two, shooting a 77 (+5) to finish the day in a four-way tie for first with a final score of 152 (+8).    

Busker's score in Lake City was historic in several ways. For starters, Busker became the first Wildcat to win the prestigious DIII Classic, which features several of the top Division III golf teams in the Midwest Region. Busker also tied the St. Kate's school record for an individual 36-hole score – a record by teammate Abby Conzemius (Chanhassen, Minn./Minnetonka) one week earlier.

Busker went on to have one of the most impressive seasons in Wildcat Golf history. The first year earned All-MIAC honors after finishing in a tie for seventh at the MIAC Golf Championship in October and helped St. Kate's finish the season as one of the top-25 golf programs in the country. As an individual, Busker was ranked as high as No. 7 in the Midwest Region and No. 49 in the country.
