The St. Kate's track and field team opened their indoor season at the UW-Stout Open. The Wildcats top finisher was senior
Greta Sieve, who finished first and set a new school record in the 3k with a time of 10:22.15. It is the eighth time Sieve has set a school record on the track. She led from start to finish in the race, and steadily pulled away to win by nearly 15 seconds.
Other notable performances for the Wildcats included:

Samantha Levercom (7.77).

Erin Coughlin set a new lifetime best in the 400 meter dash, winning her heat in a time of 62.51.

Celestine Ventura qualified for finals in both the weight throw (14.51 meters, 47-7.25 ft) and the shot put (11.88 meters, 38-11.75 ft).

Samantha Larson also qualified for finals in the weight throw with a toss of 13.55 meters (44-5.5 ft).
The Wildcats race again on Friday January 29 at St. Olaf College.
