After picking up a win last week against Bethel University, the St. Catherine University tennis team hoped to extend its Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) win streak to two matches with just two conference matches on the schedule before spring break. The Wildcats were able to do just that as they battled St. Olaf College for a 6-3 victory Friday evening at the University of Minnesota Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis.

The Wildcats battled the Oles to a 2-1 victory in doubles play, but it wasn't an easy road. At the No. 2 spot, Maria Koval (Green Bay, Wis.) and Mikinzee Salo (Brainerd, Minn.) managed to hold off Kristi Kroker and Lizzie Carlson for an 8-3 win. It was a different story, though, for Victoria Bravo (Tucson, Ariz.) and Kylie Ketcho (Edina, Minn.) at the No. 1 spot. The pair fought back for the narrow victory winning four-straight games after being down 6-3 to Alisa Hall and Maya MacGibbon.

In singles play, the Wildcats swept the top four spots in straight sets led by a perfect 6-0,6-0 win from Salo over Bailey Kent at the No. 4 spot. Bravo remained undefeated in her MIAC career at the No. 1 position, but she had her work cut out for her against Hall. In the first set, Bravo came from behind for a 7-6 win with a 7-1 tiebreaker before closing out the win with a 6-3 decision in the second set.

At the No. 2 and 3 spots, Koval and Ketcho each worked for their fourth MIAC singles wins of the season. Koval took down Kroker 6-4, 6-3, while Ketcho came up with a huge 7-5 win in the first set over MacGibbon. She then closed out the Wildcats' victory with a second set decision of 6-4.

With the win, the Wildcats improve to 4-2 overall and 4-1in the MIAC. Next up, the Wildcats will take on Saint Mary's University in a 7 pm. contest next Friday at Baseline.
