Swimming third at home invitational

The Wildcats won three events in their home pool on Saturday, on their way to a third place finish at the eight team St. Kate's Invitational.  Steffanie Jurusik won two events and the Wildcats also picked up a victory in the 400 free relay.  

St. Thomas won the women's meet with 700 points, edging St Ben's with 695.5.  The Wildcats were third with 434.5 points, followed by Concordia with 285.5, UM Morris with 255, UW River Falls with 234.5, Hamline with 183, and Augsburg with 135.  St. Thomas also won the men's meet with 756 points, ahead of St. John's with 708, UW River Falls with 428 and Hamline with 222.  

Jurusik picked up her first win in the 200 IM with a time of 2:14.92 and came back to win the 200 back in 2:13.45.  Both were season best times.  The Wildcats 400 free relay dominated the competition, winning by over five seconds.  Sarah Vrudny, Lena Anderson, Allison Witt, and Bridget Perkins finished in 3:46.53.  

Seniors Ashley Kramka and Reba Bisciglia both finished their careers in their home pool on a high note, picking up season best times in two events each.  Sarah Moody placed second in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving.  Bridget Perkins took second in the 100 fly.
