It was Senior Night Friday evening in the
Butler Center pool, as the Wildcat swimmers and divers honored their six seniors. Fittingly, it was a Wildcat senior who was the only double event winner of the evening, helping to lead St. Kate's to victories over both Augsburg and Macalester.
Bridget Perkins won both the 50 and 100 free as the Wildcats defeated the Scots 113-102 and won 162-29 over the Auggies.
Perkins teamed up with fellow seniors
Ashley Kramka,
Sarah Vrudny, and
Mary Walters to narrowly defeat the Wildcat underclass relay team in the 200 medley relay. Anchor
Ashley Kramka was able to squeak into the finish .01 ahead of Allison Witt as the seniors won in 1:58.06.
Also shining on Senior Night, senior
Reba Bisciglia qualified for the conference meet while also picking up a fourth and a sixth place finish, and senior diver
Sarah Moody won the 1-meter diving and placed second in the 3-meter diving.
Junior captain
Melanie Maas continued in her successful January by dropping time in both her events Friday, notching a 1:20.46 in the 100 breast and a 2:31.66 in the 200 IM, good for fifth. First-year
Marie Fallon added to the depth the Wildcats will have at the conference meet by also meeting the conference qualifying standard in the 100 breast.
The Wildcats have a quick turnaround, as they host the Wildcat Invitational on Saturday in the
Butler Center pool. Diving starts at 8 AM and swimming events start at 1 PM.
