Golf places ninth at MIAC Championship

With three rounds in the books, the Wildcat golf team is officially finished with their first MIAC Championship.  The golfers finished the weekend in ninth place out of eleven teams.   The Wildcats shot a 370 in Monday's third round to hold off the St. Mary's team by several strokes, with their three day total of 243 over par.

After shooting a 373 as a team on day one, the young WIldcat squad posted their best score of the weekend on the second day, shooting a 364, before closing out the final round with 370.  Miranda McKeeth was the top placer for the team, with a solid second and third days vaulting her to a tie for 28th place overall.  McKeeth shot rounds of 91, 86, and 85, the lowest score by any Wildcat on the weekend and equalling her season low.

Ellen Rager proved to be a steady golfer over the three rounds, with a remarkably consistant 89, 87, and 88.  Rager ended the weekend in 30th place.  Whitney Nash also stayed fairly steady over the weekend, shooting a 92, 94, and 96 to place 44th.  Chelsey Craft placed 49th and Michelle Gilstad was 55th overall.

St. Olaf won the women's team title with a 75 over par, led by the individual champion Vanessa Kleckner with a thirteen over par.
