The St. Kate's softball team faced NAIA's #11 Concordia (CA), losing twice in their double-header matchup in Irvine, California.
The Wildcats fell behind early in game one, as Concordia showed why they are ranked #11 in the NAIA, knocking in 3 runs in the first inning. St. Kate's limited the Eagles to one run the following two innings, but they exploded for 5 in the fourth inning while the Wildcats struggled at the plate.
Game two started like game one as Concordia jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead. St. Kate's held a steady eye at the plate, recording 8 base-on-balls for the game, with Kelsey Luedtke recording 3. Unfortunately the Wildcats were unable to convert the walks into runs and fell to the Eagles 9-0.
The softball team continues its California road trip when it faces Bethany University in a double-header in Santa Cruz, CA on Wednesday, March 31st.
