Sieve competes at NCAA National Championships
Greta Sieve wrapped up her senior season of cross country at the NCAA National Championships in Cleveland, Ohio. Sieve finished 41st in a field of 280 runners.
Competing on a very soft, soggy and challenging course Sieve become the highest placing finisher at the NCAA National Meet in St. Kate's history. Her finishing time of 22:58 was only seven seconds off of the final All-American spot (top 35 receive are All-American honors). It also moved her up one place from last weekend's regional meet competitors as she finished sixth among Central Region Athletes.
A pleased Coach Henderson noted that "It was a good way to end her outstanding season. She competed extremely hard and handled her first national cross country meet well. We figured she had a shot at being an All-American, and she went for it. I'm very proud of her effort today and all season long. Greta has been an outstanding example for our other student-athletes and shown what you can do when you work hard at something you love."
