The St. Kate’s swimming and diving team opened their season in style. The Wildcats won every event in the Augsburg Pentathlon and came away with a convincing win. St. Kate's scored 2413 points, nearly 1200 points ahead of runner up Hamline.

Sophomore Sarah Vrudny won the individual title at the meet with 205 points. Right on her heels where teammates Bridget Perkins and first year Allison Witt, who tied for second with 203 points.

Also recording top ten finishes for Coach Hempler’s squad were Mary Walters (5th), #Melanie Mass (6th), Steffanie Jurusik (8th) and Reba Bisciglia (1oth).

Picking up event titles for St. Kate’s were Perkins in the 100 fly, Jurusik in the 100 back, Witt in the 100 IM and 100 breast, and Vrudny in the 100 Free.

A pleased Coach Hempler noted that “It was a great start to our year. The girls all had a verys trong first meet.”

The women return to action on October 31st at the Carleton Relay Meet in Northfield.
