Cross Country hosts wintery invite
The cool temperatures and overnight snow fall made the St. Kate's cross country team feel like they were hosting a meet in late November rather than early October. Despite the challenging conditions, the Wildcats turned in some excellent performances on their way to a fourth place team finish.
Greta Sieve lead the Wildcats as she finished second overall in a time of 14:38. Sieve was just steps behind Margot Branigan of Hamline University who was an NCAA Qualifier last fall.
While Sieve ran out front with Branigan the entire way, the rest of the Wildcats were working together and moving up well through the race as well.
Heidi Sande (25th) led a four-pack of St. Kate's runners who finished within seven seconds of one another to round out the team's scoring. Also in that pack were
Tamar Billiet (26th),
Renee Crepeau (27th), and
Jessica Rogers (28th).
Luther College won the meet with 32 points. The Wildcats finished fourth overall with 108 points.
