Coaches

Ben Hageseth
The 2009-10 season will be Hageseth's third year overall, and second year as head coach,at St. Catherine University. In his first year directing the tennis program Coach Hageseth helped senior Susie Hallquist win the MIAC Chris Evert Award. 

Prior to his arrival at St. Kate's Coach Hageseth was the head coach of the girls tennis program at St. Paul Academy. Hageseth is also a coach at the Tennis and Life Camps in St. Peter, Minn. and works as a tennis professional at the Crosstown Lifetime Fitness. 

In addition to his coachind dutires, Ben is the director of the intramural athletic programs at St. Kate's.

Hageseth received his Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy from Gustavus in 2003 and is completing his master’s degree in theology from the St. Paul Seminary School of Divinity. He also has a professional certification from the United States Professional Tennis Association.



Eric Stacey
Eric Stacey is the Athletic Director and assistant tennis coach at St. Catherine University. The 2009-2010 season will mark Stacey's 12th year at St. Kate's. While working with the tennis team has always been an integral part of his time at St. Kate's, Eric has also assisted with the hockey program, been Assistant Director of Admissions, and was Associate Athletic Director.  

As a coach, Stacey earned MIAC Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year honors during the 2001-02 season. He then guided the Wildcats to the NCAA Division III Team Championships in 2004, a first in school history for any Wildcat team. Stacey then stepped aside for two years to take over the Athletic Director duties before returning to work with the tennis program again in 2007.

Eric is a 1993 graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College. He then went on to earn his Master of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Virginia in 1995 and completed the coursework for his Ph.D. in 1996. While a graduate student at UVA he also served as the assistant women’s tennis coach. He started at St. Kate’s in the fall of 1997.
