Track competes at Carleton Quadrangular
The St. Kate's track and field team kicked off their Easter Break by competing at the Carleton Quadrangular. The Wildcats turned in three personal bests and nine season bests at the mid-week meet.
Kristina Popov set a new personal best in the pole vault with a clearance of 10' 0.75" (3.07m) to finish third overall.
Samantha Larson set a new personal best in the hammer throw with a mark of 131'6" (40.09m) to finish third.
Other top place finishers for the Wildcats were:
Kim Engel taking first in the 400 meter dash with a time of 60.57 seconds.
Kayla Engel took second in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:20.71.
Larson also finished second in the shot put with a throw of 36-3 (11.05m)
Celestine Ventura was second in the discus throw with a toss of 125-11 (38.39m)
The Wildcats return to competition on April 18th at the Manitou Classic hosted by St. Olaf College on April 18.
